LiDAR coverage map: what's available where.
These maps use the same public elevation services Geo-Surface reads in the app: USGS 3DEP in the United States and NRCan HRDEM in Canada. If a government server is offline, the map falls back to the published 1 m LiDAR project footprints from the same public archives. For the best field-level check, open the free Viewer and draw the boundary. If LiDAR fetches there, that same coverage is what Geo-Surface Pro reads.

Geo-Surface streams the best available 3DEP elevation for the boundary you draw, at a resolution you pick. Use this map for orientation, then confirm the exact field in the free Viewer. If the Viewer fetches LiDAR there, Geo-Surface Pro reads that same coverage.
Canada
NRCan HRDEM public elevation
Geo-Surface Pro is only recommended in Canada if you will rely on LiDAR where this map shows coverage. Anywhere else, you would need to import your own RTK elevation data, as survey points or a GeoTIFF. Confirm the exact field in the free Viewer: if LiDAR fetches there, Geo-Surface Pro reads that same coverage.
The free Viewer is the practical coverage test: draw the field, fetch LiDAR, and confirm the terrain renders. Geo-Surface Pro reads that same public coverage, then adds the design tools. For install work, use Geo-Surface for planning and comparison, then verify with RTK when the job goes ahead.

What is included in Geo-Surface Pro?

How much does it cost, and is there a per-acre fee?
Never a per-acre fee. Geo-Surface Pro is US$799 a year for one user, or US$1,330 for 3 users, US$1,860 for 6 and US$2,400 for 10, billed annually with unlimited fields and acres. Design 640 acres in a year on a single plan and it works out to about US$1.25 an acre; a revised design or the next field adds nothing. For context, commissioning drone LiDAR typically runs $30 to $120 an acre.
Is there a monthly plan?

Can my team share one membership?

Do my customers or crew need a licence to see my designs?
No. Back up the project and send the file: they open it in the free Geo-Surface Viewer with no account and no cost, and get the whole job, from the runs and grades to the ground and the water maps behind the plan. On a phone or tablet the Viewer can show their position on the plan with GPS.
What computer and browser do I need?
Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a Windows PC or a Mac desktop or laptop, with nothing to install. Those two browsers can save projects straight into a folder on your computer, which is why Safari and Firefox can’t run the design app, and neither can phones or tablets (they run the free Viewer). Plan on 8 GB of RAM (16 GB is nicer), a reasonably modern graphics chip and a stable internet connection; a large monitor and a mouse make design work much easier. The simplest check is to open the live demo on the computer you would actually design on.
Does my field data get uploaded to your servers?
No. The analysis runs inside your browser on your own computer. The app downloads public elevation and imagery, but your boundaries, surveys and designs stay in a project folder you choose until you export and send them.
Is there help if I get stuck?
Yes. Built-in AI support is available 24/7 inside the app: ask how to use a tool, what a warning means or what to do next, and it can take you to the tool or the right section of the manual. With your permission it uses a privacy-filtered snapshot of the open workflow; it never sends field coordinates, geometry, elevation rasters, uploads, file names, report branding or costs, and the conversation is discarded when the page refreshes. It can help you prepare a support case for a person, and members also have Member support. AI can make mistakes, so verify field and engineering decisions before acting on them.
Does it work with Ditch Assist and my display?
Yes. Surface and tile plans go to Ditch Assist as a map layer that lines up under your GPS position, and land forming designs export as a Ditch Assist AGD with your calibration benchmarks. Other displays take reference files, and installable designs are available for Trimble™ and Ag Leader™ displays in Beta.
Do I still need an RTK survey?
Yes, for installation. Plan and design from LiDAR, then survey and grade with RTK when the job goes ahead: either run by run as it goes in, or the whole field first so the design is re-checked on surveyed ground.
Is land forming finished?
Land forming is our newest workflow and is still in Beta. It is a focused drain-to-edge tool: pick the edges water may leave by, set a max cut, and solve a surface that drains with as little dirt moved as possible. We are working on updates now that add more land forming design tools and functionality. Some fields need a different workflow, specialised software or a professional designer. Try land forming in the demo, then look at your own field in the free Viewer.
Does one membership cover the US and Canada?
Yes, the same membership covers both countries, and the app works in US customary or metric units. Elevation comes from USGS 3DEP in the US and NRCan HRDEM in Canada, and availability depends on the public data in each area. Detailed, measured soil data is for US fields.
